In a recent interview for New York Magazine, Anjelica Huston made it clear that she has had some things on her mind about Diane Keaton and Robert De Niro for a while now.
Even Oprah Winfrey found herself in the crossfire, and Huston spared no details about her negative feelings towards her fellow celebrities.
In one of her comments, she made critical remarks that were seemingly aimed at Poms, Keaton’s new film coming up in a few days.
She also remarked on de Niro, implying that money had been an important motivation for his recent work and that he has sold out.
She was critical of the way De Niro handled himself as a celebrity as well, particularly one involved in the film world.
On the legendary actor, she said: “Although, how big can this nut be? I guess he has maybe a couple of ex-wives, right? Not many, but what does this fellow spend his money on? He’s got Nobu. He’s got the Tribeca Film Festival — he’s not spending the film money on that.”
As for Oprah Winfrey, Huston was displeased with never having been invited to her show, although it is not clear how this was supposed to criticize the TV icon in the first place.
Huston stated: “She never had me on her show, ever. She won’t talk to me.”
Winfrey was nominated with The Color Purple the same year when Huston won an Oscar for Prizzi’s Honor.
There have been some mild rumors implying that we might see this particular appearance on Oprah’s new ventures at some point, but this has been the point of much speculation, and it is not clear if there are any chances of it happening.
Neither Oprah nor the other celebrities pointed out in the verbal attack, have responded to the claims so far.
